2008 interior light on/off by itself

Fir a few months, our F150 interior dome light over the front seat turns off and on by itself while driving, especially harrowing at night. We manage to "turn it off" by slapping the top of the console but can’t seem to find a remedy. Help!

I would recommend taking the console apart and look for a circuit board that has cold joints.

ugh. I humored my wife by checking fuses, but really just hope it’s a door switch that has vibrated a loose connection with it.

If it was a door switch you would be getting a door ajar warning.

Does the cluster dimmer switch on the dash turn this light on when you go to full bright? If so, run the switch from full dim to full bright a few times and back it off a bit from full bright. If there is a separate switch to turn this light on, turn it on and off several times.
