I have a 2004 (NBS) Scab 4x2, 5.4L engine, with 105,000 miles. For the past 6-8 weeks, when I shift into reverse, the truck will only go at idle speed. Any attempts to give it throttle only result in engine revs and no acceleration. Sounds like a tranny issue, maybe the reverse gear stripped, correct? I'll likely take it into a shop next week, any advice or input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

Probably a broken reverse band.
