2007 f150 xl

I bought a used F150 XL 5.4 and all I got is a single key. I have made a spare key and now I am trying to install an remote starter. I have done some research online and the feed back is that I need to reprogram the key all together so I can have 2 keys requirement for this to work. Is there anyway around this, to where I don't have to spend arms and legs to the dealer to have this done, and use just my single key and the spare key I made and use it to program my remote starter?

It would help if you told us the brand and model of the remote starter.

it's a after market type, from china. I was able to have it work however only with the key in the ignition, is there a way to program the RS-TATA. 5 (universal transponder bypass kit) with a single key?

If it works with the key in the ignition, you could try opening the steering column and strapping a working key close to the transponder.

You could also download FORScan and play around with it. It may work. It is suppose to allow access to the PATS SecuriLock ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SecuriLock ) . It might work. If it doesn't, at least you tried that, and you can cross it off your list. If it does, you can post about what you did & how you did it, to help the next guy.
