2 mistakes right there. Use only Motorcraft plugs and Motorcraft or Denso coils.

2005 f150 fx4 frustration

2005 f150 new plugs and coils all motor craft new fuel filter and rouch cold air. Ok my truck had absolutely no acceleration or power until I changed all the above items minus the cold air now it runs 10 times better BUT.... it still has acceleration problems at 3600+ rpms in second and third gear and I need help finding out why. It is not consistent with the lag and sputter it was every time before changing out
parts now it’s not. I need help and any advise is appreciated thank you

I would ditch the cold air intake and go back to stock.

People don't realize that even cold air intakes requires a tune, because doesn't coincide with the stock A/F parameters.

Chances are this will resolve your issue.

For those that want to help, the OP has made several threads regarding the same issue with additions:

You never told us what engine is in the truck.

Check the FPDM.

The FX4 came with the 5.4 3 valve.

Okay. New Motorcraft plugs and coils? New fuel filter?

1. Check the FPDM for corrosion.
2. Put some Techron in the gas to clean the injectors.
3. Get rid of the "cold air" intake and put a stock system back on. The 5.4 3 valve will run excessively lean with any aftermarket intake unless you get custom tunes for the specific intake.

What else is not stock besides the intake?

By the way, please do not start another new thread. REPLY to this one.
