It has been a long while since I've been on the forum. Back in 2003 I bought a 2001 F150 XLT with a 4.2 and this site was instrumental in helping me with questions. That was a great truck. In '04 I traded that truck for, well we will say another brand. It was a great truck too but had to sell it when I was laid off in '09 to free up cash. With the extra money I bought a '00 5.4 2wd Excursion and 8 years later it is getting long in the tooth. I love that thing but it is starting to have needs that outweigh it value to me. I was in the market for a F250 when my inlaws called and offered me their '06 supercrew lariat with 127k. I got it for rough trade in ($6800) even though it is in superb shape. I remember when they bought it new. So I'm back in the F150 game with another 2wd and 5.4 which has just been serviced by Ford (new plugs, coils and fluids). The only issue I have is with the ATC and it not shutting off without turning off the truck and only blowing at one speed, high. Resistor maybe? I've read about phasers and luckily the truck is quiet so I will keep a eye on that. Is it true that these '06 5.4's take 7 quarts of oil and is 5/20 still good with these miles? My excursion uses 5/20 but it's not a 3V. Thanks for taking the time to read this and any answers or advice you can give.
