long time lurker here. I have a 2005 STX with a new (20000 miles so far), and now my frame is roaches. I had it “fixed” meaning a guy welded plates all over it. Before I say good bye to this truck I’m wondering if there is something I could easily swap my engine into? I see a lot of blown 5.4 for sale but not many 4.6. For the full disclosure I blew a spark plug at 109000 after smelling fuel in my vents do a while. I had a helico installed and didn’t make it 100 more miles before the engine started an awful racket in the lower end. A three in a new motor at the dealership only to have the frame start to show holes. I’m not looking for new truck payments so any advice would be appreciated.

 

Is the body rusted as well? If not, try finding a used frame, the frame swaps are not to hard.
