Shifter Handle Alternatives?

Like many of us, my shifter handle has bit the dust...cap broken off...lower section dropped...chrome chipped..etc...

I knew of this years ago, and I remember reading threads about replacing the whole thing, or superglueing the cap back back on, but as I was looking around today I saw that some folks had swapped the Ford Flex handle into Explorers.

I'm not necessarily asking about that exact handle, but has anyone retrofitted a handle from another/newer model into our trucks?

Well I see that you can now buy just the cap...which I ordered...but I'm still curious if there is a way to use the shifter out of another model??? Raptor, Expedition, etc...

I know the 04-05 handles were different than the 06-08

Never thought about trying something from a different model

Well damn...I thought I read somewhere that the 04-06 were the same, and 07-08 were different. Weren't people doing Lincoln shifter swaps to get the leather?

Sucks being out of the game for awhile...so much changes or gets discovered in the meantime.
