Hello all,

Im having an intermittent issue starting my truck. The symptoms include, when turning the ignition switch to start the entire electrical system goes dead (Loss of all power functions, lights, radio, horn, interior lights, everything) also the transmission locks in park. I have noticed that if i hit the steering wheel, sometimes the electrical kicks back on, and the car starts(randomly). could this be an issue with the ignition switch, or connector? Battery reads 12.9Vdc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When all functions go out with ignition to crank, all voltage has gone very low.
This is why everything goes out.
You have one or more of the following conditions.
a. Faulty battery with an open internal cell strap.
b. Battery cable ends or posts are dirty or loose.
c. faulty cable.
d. faulty ground.
e. other end of either cable connection loose or corroded.
Bottom line is the voltage to the system is being dropped across the fault.
It pays to go over all areas and be sure.
A simple voltage test is of no value without a load on the system.

Correct. What is needed is called a "voltage drop" test where segments of the circuit are checked sequentially while under load. Google it.

The Solution was B.
I dont know how I missed the + terminal being loose.
