Leveling kits

Looking to get a leveling kit for a 2005 4wd screw. I want to find a kit that improves ride and adds a little height to clear atleast 33's. Im ignorant to whats out there now especially for an 05. Any ideas and suggestions are appreciated. thanks

I think most 33's will clear on the 4WD model in stock form.

Leveling kits are not going to improve ride quality - they give you a minimal amount of lift to clear larger tires while keeping basically a stock ride. I've had an Autospring 2.5" kit on my 05 screw since new and run 35-12.50 tires with no issues. Google Autospring and it should take you to their site - good guys and will answer any questions that you might have.

On a 12 year old truck complaining of ride quality, look over the front end really well. Ball joints especially.

Then consider doing bilstien 5100 to level the front end and replace your worn out shocks

I put in a 2" MotoFab leveling kit this summer on my 2007 f150 Screw 4x4. It didnt really change ride quality but I like the look of a leveled truck. I added rims with a -12mm offset and plan on going to 35's as soon as I get some cash saved. This gave me those few extra inches I need to clear the tires from rubbing. Overall I am happy with it.

I have a 2005 f150 screw Fx4, and I had 2 inch coil over spacers on the front, but my experience was it reduced the ride quality quiet a bit. I changed over to rancho quick lift struts and it gave me the exact look i wanted, and improved the ride quality that I feel was a bit better than stock. I also put 3 inch blocks in the back (truck came stock with 2 inch blocks in the rear), but I easily clear 33's, and am actually looking at 35's now.

heres a picture for reference, Im more than happy with the stance.

I had an autospring 2.5 kit on my truck before the front struts died of old age. I swapped out for a pair of Rancho Quick Lifts. BAD idea... The spring in the QLs is junk...You just won't get the advertised lift out of them. To the point of blatantly false advertising on Rancho's part.

I do like the QL struts themselves. And I am hoping to salvage the QLs through using the Moog payload package springs. But if I were to do it over again, and my OEM springs were in good shape I would grab a pair of the Rancho RS9000 struts, swap springs, and throw an Autospring kit on top of it.

35x12.50/17s fit on mine with minor trimming. 33s were an easy clear. Don't do 33x12.50 on a 9" wide rim with stock height or you WILL rub...

2004 F150 XLT Supercab, Rancho Quicklift 2.5" that amounted to about 1" of actual lift after the weight of the winch and brush guard. I am working on the truck now hoping to recapture the height by swapping in the payload package springs that Rancho recommended to me.

I originally had an Autospring 2.5" kit on OEM struts.

If you have any extra weight over the front of the truck. Like a winch mount + winch that adds in my case since I was stupid and opted for steel winch cable, approximately 250 LBS to the nose of the truck. Basically my truck acts like there is a fat guy standing on the front bumper everywhere I go...

Do you have an aftermarket bumper on your truck?
We state 2.5" on this year, what did you get?

Edit I see the pic now.
That added weight sure can do it.

Like I mentioned. The weight of the winch, and winch mount / brush guard is like having a fat guy riding on the front bumper all the time...

Nothing personal, you guys make a good product designed for "Normal Applications" which typically doesn't include a winch on a full size half ton truck. Most folks don't want a stiffer ride higher rate springs would deliver, so the engineers opted for a softer spring... My bad in not considering that. Rancho support DID do me right by steering me to the HD springs from Moog...

I just haven't had the time or energy to install them yet.

To add my 2 cents.

I had the 2.5" leveling spacers in my old truck and hated them, I ended up using Bilstein 5100 HD shocks. Worked great for me.
So well worth it in the long run.
