Everstart vs. Autocraft

I've done some research on this but not getting anywhere fast enough. Went Wally World yesterday with intentions on buying a battery. Found a 65 group size Everstart with a 5yr warranty / 850 CCA's for $94. Guy at the counter didn't even know how to test my battery and also couldn't handle the 3 people in line all at once so I walked out. Was over it.

Ended up going to Advanced Auto and bought a 2yr battery - group size 650 / 750 CCA's for $140. Did I waste $50 or is Autocraft simply a better battery.

I'm sure the opinions will vary; just throwing it out there.

I think you wasted 50 bucks, but the Wallyworld Neverstarts aren't that great. Best deals on conventional batteries are at Sam's Club and Costco.

You wasted 50 bucks. Both are made by Johnson Controls and the Walmart battery has more plates for more power. I only use Everstart batteries. The oldest is in my Bronco, works great every time, and it's going on ten years old. The Everstart in my Lincoln LSC Mark 7 is 8 years old and works just fine. I've never had any issues at all with warranty on them. I have had 2 go bad over the last 20+ years and both times they checked the battery and handed me a new one.

I agree with the two previous posters. I used to be big fan of DAP but their products and service have been total crap since they merged with Advanced Auto. I had SIX batteries from them all fail in less than a year. Two of them failed the same day that I bought them. I no longer buy ANYTHING from ADAP or what ever they're calling themselves now.

I last battery that I bought I bought from Super Walmart for $48. It's working fine.

Sam's Club has a $25 discount going on until Dec 24 for their Duracell AGM batteries.

Good to know. I've read really bad reviews on Everstart, which was what got me questioning it. The other batteries I've bought we're also over $100, so the low price just seemed odd to me. Sad part is I would have bought it if the dingleberry behind the counter was a little more helpful and wasn't going to make me wait an hour to buy the damn thing.

Thanks guys.

You paid $50 extra for a battery with fewer CCA and they are made by the same company.
