Error Codes 2005 4.6
Error Codes 2005 4.6
This morning I was driving to work. As I was pulling off of my residential road to a commercial road (my road is lower than the commercial road to act as a speed bump) I gave the truck a little gas to get over the bump and it seemed to pause and took more than normal till it finally did go. Then my check engine light came on and stayed on the rest of the drive.
The engine seemed to sound pretty normal and from what I could tell (have only put about 400 miles on this truck) drove and shifted normal after that first event. I noticed that cruise control wouldn't engage after the incident.
When i got to work, I turned the truck off and back on and the check engine light went away. I had a mechanic friend come to read the code for me (I'm on a 24 hour shift so I can't leave) and the following Codes came up:
OSS Sensor Circuit Fault (no associated parameter) DTC P0720
Throttle Actuator Control system- Fo... (no associated parameter) DTC P2106
Output shaft speed sensor No Signal (no associated parameter) DTC P0722
Anyone else experience this? Is this indicative of faulty or dirty sensor that can be cleaned or replaced, or something more serious?
Any help is appreciated, thanks guys!

The code 721 is a VSS speed error code.
The 722 is a no signal code from the same sensor.
Put the two together. NO signal.
The 2106 code tell you the throttle was forced closed.
Get the speed sensor issue cleared first then then 2106 might clear.
The two are not directly related but the speed sensing signal is used for many purposes.
Check out the wiring harness to see of the sensor plug came loose from the bump shock, while driving.
Good luck.
