Truck won't start - turned off while driving

It's a 2007 v6 standard...I forgot to list that...

Lets start with this - the husband did an oil change, he saw his lights were wired wierd and fixed it. The next day, his compressor for his AC wouldn't turn over. He found if he jumped it straight from the battery it seemed to work. He installed a switch to control when it's off and on and it worked - So he left it at that. His truck ran extremely weird at first when he wired it on to the battery. It would die if we weren't pressing the gas, but then all the sudden it stopped doing that and the truck started working like normal and the AC as well.

Well all was working fine for the last 5 days, including a 600 mile round trip to Austin from Dallas, it worked just like it should. Well today it decided to die. It was smoking from the fuse box under the wood. Hubs found the PCM fuse was melted so we went to ford and got a replacement for both of the fuses in the box (there were only 2, idk if thats normal, we bought it used) and it did nothing. We have no idea where to go from here. If he burnt up his computer?

The truck will not turn over, the lights on the dash, radio, etc won't come on. However, the interior lights come on and the head lamps will turn on? So it seems to have power. We tested the battery and all that, and it's all fine.

Pllllease help!

Start by trying to undo what ever was done wiring wise.
Return to stock and retest.

We tried that, but at this point it's almost like something is fried and I have no idea what it could be.
