2004 std cab xlt seat options

OK, I have had this 2004 F-150 XLT standard cab since it was new. It was wrecked and stored for a few years and mice decided to move in. I finally decided to get it fixed and have been driving it for about a year now. I have gotten rid of most of the smell, but the seats still stink. I thought they were uncomfortable since it was new, but now with 100K miles I am looking for some options to get more comfortable seats that don't stink!

Thanks,
Matthew

I also have a 2004 XLT standard cab 4X4 with short bed that I've had since new (they were hard to find then and harder now). I never found the seats to be uncomfortable but I dislike how easily they get dirty and need cleaning. Have you tried Febreze for the odor? Also, I have found that if you put a few charcoal briquettes under the seat, they will help absorb the odors over time.

Well the seat bottoms were very hard to begin with, and I didn't like it, however I guess it would be ok by now. The issue however is the rodents must have "borrowed" some of the seat foam, as the drivers seat is very soft and not at all supportive. I have had lower back issues since the 90s and with a 70 miles round trip drive in the truck I am just looking for options to improve the look/smell/comfort.

I tried febreeze, which turned the pungent odor into more of a strong musty smell, now I would just like to get rid of that. I have taken the carpet out, will replace it soon. I am considering replacing the headline, but I haven't looked into how much trouble that is yet.

As far as replacing the seat foam, all I seem to find is a replacement for the bottom, but not the back. Is this common? Is there even a replacement for the seat back?

Thanks,
Matthew

Much better than Febreeze is Odo-Ban. Try it before you rip anything else out.
