04 5.4L ignition problems

I have an 04 F150 that has intermittent ignition/start problems. When I insert the key and turn, everything on the dash comes one, headlights and cab lights work, but no starter or ignition. Next day, it starts and operates correctly for sometimes a few weeks, then the same thing happens. Same thing with all keys--they either all work or all fail. I've had it towed to the dealer twice and by the time they get to working on it, everything works and no fail codes. They said it may be the sensor in the column for the key security chip but they said there is no way to check it unless the system is failing at that time. Also note, it has a new computer and this failure did not occur before the new computer.

I can't live with an unreliable vehicle...PLEASE HELP!

You sure it's not the MLPS (neutral safety switch)? Try starting it in N, wiggling the shifter around if you have to.
