So today coming home from school, someone who thought they were more important than the rest of us decided they would cut off myself and an 18-wheeler and forced me into a guard rail shearing my passenger side rear wheel and tire off at the end of the axle housing. I'm okay, it could have been a whole lot worse. The person who caused the accident of course fled the scene.
You hit the end of the guard rail -isn't that supposed to absorb energy ? Too much energy ? I'll have to study that one for a while excercise my metallurgy brain.
That's one of those trucks you'd think doesn't look to bad at auction, then get it home to find friggin near every little thing broken on it. Amazing how little external damage compared to how many individual parts were destroyed!
So I heard from insurance today........... They are going to fix everything. They say there is only 4,370.78 in damages. Its getting dropped off at the shop on Monday. I talked to BDS and they said that they will replace the suspension components from the kit ( insurance company just has to call them and order the parts).

When the 82 yr old lady in her town car t-boned my Dodge Magnum, the dipstick estimator came up with $4k in damages so they fixed it. Almost $7k later I got it back from the body shop. It retailed for about $9500. If the estimator had done his job correctly, they probably would have totaled it.
