2007 8 rib conversion
Hi all
just joined the site today.
I have 2007 f-150 with Whipple 2.3 and did an 8 rib conversion.
Just have one issue and wondering if anyone else had this issue?
The belt is rubbing on the timing cover passenger side just above the A/C.
Its not shredding the belt but at idle you can see the belt ripple back up onto the smooth idler pulley after it rubs the cover.
Took the belt off and the timing cover has witness marks where the belt is rubbing on it. I was told the alternator was the problem so
I shimmed the alternator forward about .065, belt did not rub the cover anymore but one rib of the belt jumped off the front of the A/C pulley.
So i removed the shims from behind the alternator and the problem to me seems the A/C/pump assembly or pulley needs to be moved forward. I used the pulley part # YB3140 and clutch hub YB3111 I have the FS 20 compressor.
Any advise is greatly appreciated and sorry for the novel.
Thanks
