aftermarket rearview mirror, relocating compass?

I am going to be installing a backup camera into my 04, I already bought the tailgate handle with camera. I was planning on replacing my rear view mirror with this
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J863EI2/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=HFJF2EFP55EK&coliid=I24655CYZZSDFX http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J863EI2/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=HFJF2EFP55EK&coliid=I24655CYZZSDFX
but I just my factory mirror has this "black box" attached to it, I believe it is for the compass if not please correct me. Is there anyway to relocate the box to install the aftermarket mirror?

If not I may just replace the my stock head unit with a Pioneer DVD unit. The auto-vox mirror is a much cheaper option as I do not need the features of a different headunit, I just need a monitor for my camera.

Any input is welcome!!

they make small monitors that can be attached to the dash.

i'd prefer the cleaner look of the radio or mirror, but their are cheaper options
