Fuse box question

Somedays I love and hate the internet at the same time... The 2004 to 2008 fuse boxes visually look exactly the same, though with fuse/relay gaps where fuses are not needed, for things that particular make/model didn't need. By "gaps" I mean the socket is there, but the fuse is not. I see different part numbers for each year. The dealership told me they need my VIN to order the correct one, so perhaps there's even different models in the same year? Some places I'm reading "replace with exact part number" other places I'm reading that they're all the same...
I wish I could see/buy one at a junkyard, but all the junkyards around me don't have any F150's this new, so I'm stuck with craigslist and ebay offerings around $150 or new from the dealer at over $400.

Does anyone know for sure if these are all the same or all different?
If there are subtle differences, obviously I should buy my exact same part number. But if they're universal, were the later (say 2008?) ones built better?

Call Tasca with your VIN and see how much they want.

Just over $300 shipped. For that price I'll bite the bullet and buy the new one instead of risk a used one for 1/2 the price.

Thanks.
