2005 F-150 and Rocker Repair
2005 F-150 and Rocker Repair
I've got a 2005 SCrew that is in good shape with the exception of rusting cab corners and rust on the rear part of the rockers (midway back through the rear doors).
My father in law and I are working on a plan of attack for the spring. The plan is to remove the bed, cut out the bad cab corners and rocker sections, weld in replacements, fill the gaps, prime, and paint.
Given that only a small portion of the rockers are rotted barely, the preference is to cut the replacement body panels I get from FMR and weld into place from midway back or so under the rear door. The thought is that this will take us off the hook from having to remove the 4 doors.
Is this a viable approach? Are there any potential structural impacts?
Thanks in advance!
Thanks,
Brian
