Headlight "cone thingy"
Headlight "cone thingy"
I got some aftermarket headlights for my '07 FX4, and the little cone inside the main light housing was way off center. Is that an issue? How much of the bulb itself should be covered by this "cone"? Thanx in advance.

Those cups are very important. There is a reason why that is there so they don't blind drivers, cause useless/unnecessary glare, and help you get less back-scatter in bad weather.
Chances are you are not going to get the same lighting performance as you would with stock head lights.
Also, if you do mess with your headlights --- please take the time to aim them properly!

X2, absolutely correct. And one has to wonder about the overall quality (and light output) of a unit where the manufacturer couldn't even get the placement of a critical component like this correct.
