Why does my 5.4 run a little cold at idle?

Just recently I noticed my truck temp was dropping below normal with slow driving or at idle especially when I run the heat I'm so confused it seems to run good besides sounding like a diesel but I don't care about that does anyone know what this could be before winter sets in

I'd replace the thermostat, sounds like it may be sticking part way open.
