The truck had developed an intermittent squeak. It would only squeak when your foot was hitting the gas whether you hit a bump or not.I have change the belt, three idler pulley, all front end components and recently the driver side motor mount and transmission mount. Now the squeak is pretty consistent weather on the gas pedal or off the gas pedal It does not however do it in neutral or park by revving the engine. It doesn't sound like a power steering line. It sounds like two pieces of metal rubbing together is if you would have a bad bushing however I've changed everything out. The only thing not changed was the passengers motor mount. I can't see yet how to do that one without a lot of stuff coming off the engine. All other pullies move fine by hand. The strange part was when I changed the two mounts it was worse after. Has anyone had this or have a clue what it might be? Thank you
Well I think I might have found it. I lifted the motor with a pry bar slightly and it squeaks like crazy. I'm thinking that pass side engine mount that I still need to replace is the culprit. Will have to tackle that next week.
Got the motor mount out today. Would have gone faster if I had not tried taking off the pass side exhaust manifold. For those doing this, drop the y pipe, take bolts from trans mount, take ac compressor off and push out of way. Take off starter which was a pita then lift motor and wiggle out mount.
