Any writeups on Replacing calipers
Any writeups on Replacing calipers
Hey guys, done pads and rotors on my 07 about 3-4 times with no issues. Truck has 124k and thinking about getting new calipers. How hard is it? Any writeups?
If you dont have issue with them, why replace?
to replace: remove the caliper (same thing as when you change the pads), unscrew the brake line.
screw the brake line on the new caliper assembly, reinstall and bleed the system.

Put your hand on the center of the wheels after riding around in the city and see how hot it is. If one is hotter than the other you may need to replace the hose and/or the caliper. The sliders could also need lubricating or it could also be caused by the return spring in the master cylinder getting weak. I just replaced all 5 flexible hoses, all 4 calipers and master cylinder on my truck to get rid of dragging brakes.
The main thing to know about changing calipers is to make sure the brass washers are on both sides of the brake hose connection. And don't tighten that bolt too tight. It has a hole in it and can be twisted very easily.
