back window upgrade

So today while driving 2007 FX4 to work my back stationery heated window shattered. Don't know why or from what, but it's gone. After looking online I thought I might take this opportunity to upgrade to a window with sliding glass maybe even power. I seen some for sale with power sliders and heat. My question is would this be a possible upgrade if so where would the button go, which I also seen online. Or is this just not possible? Thanks

The power slider is made by CR Lawrence...check with a local glass shop...they may be a little less expensive than Ford...

The switch on my Lariat is in the map light console...with a CR Lawrence, you could probably mount the switch anywhere...I used to install them when they first came out in the early 90's...they were all rope-in windows back then...

My slider quit working a year ago, and I haven't even bothered to look at it...

Regards!

Did the glass implode or explode outwards?

You hear about the highway sniping incidents going on in different states lately?
Maybe someone shot at you?!

My Co workers and I think I was shot with a high caliber pellet gun of sorts. Didn't really explode just shattered and there was a small hole above the passenger side headrest. So yeah

Install some bullet proof glass when you fix it.
Crazy people all over the place that are coming out of the woodwork like roaches. One crazy watches another crazy on TV and says hmm that sounds like a good ideal, then the crazy's just multiply.
The worlds gone NUTS!
And it is not the gun that is the problem.
It is the NUTCASE themselves!

If it hit your seat there should be a pellet embedded in it?
Where did most of the glass end up? Inside or outside the truck?
May I ask the general area (state, road?) that you where in when it shattered? How fast were you going?
It had to be close or a very powerful pellet gun to shatter the glass as you were driving away. Multiply your speed going away from the incoming projectile it had to be close?
Maybe it came from another vehicle that was close?

I changed out my factory manual slider on my 06, to straight glass from a 09-14. The fitment is a little cleaner, as it doesn't wrap around the body anymore.
