What to do now...
Well my wife has officially taken over my truck and we'll she wants a mall crawler. Big lift and big tires. Already have a leveling kit but only 265 70 17 tires on stock wheels. She wants 20's and 35 or 37 tires. I don't want to spend a crap ton on a lift for this thing since it won't ever see dirt, other than my drive way. Was looking at a body lift but 95% of people so not too. I will be doing all the work. I'm really asking for help on lower priced ways of making my wife's truck more to her wants. Also a place to get a steal on some rims and tires. Any and all info is appreciated!
A leveling kit and 35's should be fine. The 35's will lift the truck a couple of inches simply due to tire size. If you care about the longevity of the transmission, I'd upgrade the differential gears, too, to something like 4.56. The tires, wheels, and gears will set you back $3K by the time it's all said and done.
That's the route I was going to take for my self but she wants it up there. She really wants a 6 inch lift but I was thinking more of a 4 inch lift or just the body lift. I have been looking for a used lift kit but seem to have no luck. The gears are on the list of to do's.
Well we decided to go with a 3 inch body lift only because of price. We don't know really how long we will keep the truck. Does anyone know of a place in dfw texas to buy some used 35s for 17s? I found a ton of 35s for 20 but not 17s.
