Coolant leak

On the way home from work today I noticed my when hit the gas my rpm would continue to rise a long as I kept my foot on the peddle. I couldn't really understand it. When I got home I opened the hood to see that the coolant level was low and the whole right side of the engine was covered in coolant. In side the spark plug wells and everything. This is my first truck it's a 2008 4.6 with 72000 miles. Any ideas???

Sounds like you have a coolant leak you need to find.

Did you find out the problem my truck started running like **** this weekend found coolant in the number 7 and 8 spark plug holes. Found out the intake manifold is leaking and is a common problem on the 4.6L fords.
Vacuumed out the coolant and changed the 7 and 8 coil packs truck ran good again truck is going to my friends tomorrow he is going to changed the intake manifold and changed the plugs while his in there.

It was fixed.

After much escalating it was finally reasonably fixed. Ford probably wouldn't have such a bad reputation on quality if the service techs did their jobs, but I suspect it starts with the service managers and trickles down to the techs.
