Scratching, squealing or something

Well put lower ball joints on the 04 screw 4x4 and a leveling kit on a few days ago. Now the driverside is making a noise like something is scratching or squealing or something but only under throttle. When I hit the brakes the noise is still there until the weight of the vehicle shifts forward again. I can not find anything touching but I'm clearly missing something. Any ideas of what?

What size is the level you installed?

3" is too much for these trucks. 2.5" is the max you should go. But even those will put some pretty severe angles on your suspension.

That's why I ordered the 2.5 but I guess they messed up the order.

You should definitely contact the company and swap it out. However, some vehicles will receive more than the desired lift. I.E. a lot of people end up getting 2" of lift out of 1.5" spacers.

Can you post some pictures of your UCA, LCA tierod and Cv joint angles?

Those angles look very severe. I'd put a smaller spacer in there before you ruin a lot of your front end components.

It only scrapes at full droop. It was surprisingly easy to bolt back on. The entire process of lower ball joints and spacer took 2.5 hours. The longest part was pressing the ball joints in and out.

Update. It's been a few weeks since the ball joints and leveling kit were installed and I have here the scratching sound under acceleration. I have pulled the tire off and the caliper and rotor off and nothing appears to be touching. I am lost as to what the sound is. The leveling kit will probably be coming off at the end of the week to see if the noise goes away. More than likely I will just throw a 4 inch lift kit on it by the end of the year or sooner depending on how my new job goes. Any recommendations as for the lift?
