Mpg's?
Mpg's?
Hey all just a quick question to all regarding mpg's. 2007 KR SCREW 121600 on truck. Had new engine installed at 120000. I am getting roughly 15 mpg with mixed driving. Recently took trip to Hill Country in TX and bested at 17.6 mpg open road hwy. Dont really have a lead foot but I dont baby it either. Just curious if this is about normal for these trucks. I read through the forums and have heard some get 19-20 mpg hwy. I know we dont have trucks for great fuel economy but these sure are thirsty little monsters. Forgot to add 5.4l no mods. Thanks for any feedback. Also would like to add, I really appreciate all the helpful tips, questions, and information that is available on this site. You guys/gals out there are awesome.
Overall average of 15 is normal for the 5.4. Long stretches of interstate with cruise set at 65 will beat that, but for mixed, that was what I got with my 2005.

I average around 16mpg with my 2005 reg cab with the5.4 with 3.55 gears. Mostly interstate drive back and forth to work with some city mix and do 75 down the interstate.
Amen bluejay. Yeah forgot to add hmustang im running 3.73 rear. My old 98 SCAB 4x4 4.6 got 16mpg up hill, down hill, head wind or no. So I guess not too bad then or at least until fill up time lol.
