04 FX4 Electrical Issues

Attempted to install a backup camera today connecting to a Pioneer Avic. I connected the reverse trigger wire from the head unit to the Black/pink wire in the drivers side kick panel connector. Camera worked but when I started the truck it idled rough, like MAF was unplugged or something. Shut it off and started up fine but some weird issues:

Engine shuts down when headlights are turned on and won't start unless switch is turned off
Only the subwoofer works on the audio system (no front or rear sound)
Fuel gauge reads backwards (gauge sweep on cluster diagnostic works fine)
Airbag warning light is on
Pioneer head unit does not turn off when ignition is turned off and door opened

All these symptoms started today after installing the camera.

Could I have damaged the instrument cluster? I don't think these trucks have a body control module or common control module other than the cluster.

You now have a bad ground. Fixing it will probably fix a number of the other symptoms, if not all of them.

There are usually ground studs behind both kick panels. Start with whichever one(s) you were working in or with any preexisting ground wires you worked with.

Center bolt on the main electrical plug in drivers kick panel was loose. Thanks!
