PTM question for headlights

I have a black FX4, and really am looking into doing the HID retrofit and painting the headlights black (Harley Davidson style).

I'm pretty sure I want to do gloss black, and I want it to match the truck(I hate when things are off shade).

Would just "gloss black" match my truck, or do I need to get the OEM paint color black? From what I've seen "black is black" and really doesn't have shades???

Thanks,
Brian

Looks like I can get OEM matched paint for just a little more money, I'll play it safe.

Black is pretty much black. I doubt you'd see any difference in most of the gloss blacks. I would get whichever brand will bond best with the housing plastic.

I went with just gloss black on my lights and you can't tell a difference, especially behind the lens.
Now if it's a body panel, mirror, or for handle then yes PTM paint mixed specifically to your paint code.

That's what I thought. However, the retrofit place I'm looking at charges about 70 for gloss black, and 100 for paint matched. For the 30 I probably will paint match it, figuring these things will cost me 700 plus anyway, might as well get them perfect...........

Ya if you are spending that kind of money, may as well do it right the first time.. I know I spent $600 on mine and that was doing it myself.
