Sp515 plugs will break again?
Curious - how was that 21K accrued? Many short trips over 10 years, or a few long drives with lots of downtime?
They ain't nuffin' like a passel o' short trips (never fully warmed up, fer long enough) to promote accumulation of unwanted deposits and spooge.
Befer ye change, try several tankfuls of Techron-laced tier-1 fuel and go take some looong high-speed drives on the freeway. Woon't hurt.
Frankly - in defense of SP-515's, given the extra bluing evident in side-side comparisons to SP-507 and previous gens, it's possible (even likely) they are the strongest 'crimped' 2-piece iteration available. No question that they are excellent plugs drivability-wise.
Best o' luck!

This first two years I owned it I used it as a daily driver, in that time I put about 12,000 miles on her, both mix of short and long trips. Last 8 years and 11,000 miles it's been used only about twice a week for no more than approx 25 miles a week. But sometimes it's used more for like say a 50 mile trip max, some times it's not used for a couple weeks. I always start it few times a week tho..
I already started using Techron and will until my plug change since I don't use it that much and i wont go through many tanks. When I get closer to the change I'll take her on a nice long trip somewhere. And I'm going to go with the 515's anyway...

BTW - "I always start it few times a week tho.." .. don't do that. Idling just adds to the problem - to properly warm an engine, it needs to be under load ( driven). Idling = low cylinder pressures = poor ring sealing = lotsa blowby = oil contamination = bad juju. Better to just hook it to a batt maintainer. Put some Stabil in the gas. Or that fayncy new 'Prevention' elixir from Stabil.

Roger that.

. I've never used Stabil in my truck, just my mower, snow blower and bike. And it's connected to a Battery Tender Plus 24/7, all my vehicles are.Ty for the tips my friend
