Blown tranny!

2006 with 54600 and the tranny's gone! Give me a freaking break, what a POS!
Shuddering on stops I'm guessing due to warpped brakes, paint cracking on roof, turn signal fried, broken interior pieces the list goes on.
I drive this about 15-20 miles a day as you can tell having only 54600 after 8 years! I mean mechanic has told me how bad these trucks are but really, tranny gone with this few miles? Fix or repair daily is really starting to sound like the truth!
OK vent over, now I have to go pay the $2600 for a rebuilt tranny on my 54600 mile truck!

You can get a lemon no matter what brand and model you buy.

A lemon usually goes sour a lot earlier than this and not that Ford cares but I will never buy another Ford truck after this. Very disappointed in the "quaility" of this truck.
Hate to not support USA jobs but Toyota is really where "quality is job 1!"
My 91 turbo MR2 with 180000 makes my Ford truck look sad and I hear the Tundras are sick.

I highly doubt all 04-08 Fords are POS....I'm closing in on 180K on a truck that hasn't towed often, but has been driven like a race car since it was brand new and all I've ever done was plugs (102K) and a serpentine belt (didn't need it at 125K but I heard they last at least 250K and I plan on keeping her at least til 250-300,000 miles), other than brakes, tires and other routine maintenance.

Like glc said, you can get a lemon from ANY brand. However, you can also get a tough, dependable and safe rig that will carry you 150+ thousand miles and still put a smile on your face every time you turn her over.

You just got a lemon. For the most part my truck has done well on its first 169k plus miles. But recently I had a few issues nothing serous had the alternator go out at 167k a coil pack and a foul plug around 168k. I just put a new set of tires on it hope to get 200k out of it before I get a new truck or a Mustang GT.

The transmission went in my 05 at 51k...Ford replaced under warranty...I'm at 167k now...no problems with it...Unfortunately you are probably out of warranty...just get it rebuilt at a good shop? Steer clear of AAMCO!

Regards!

Did you service your tranny every 30k? What's breaking inside the truck? Nothing has broken in my 2008s interior. Do you ever clean and protect your roof with anything? Brakes shuddering at 56k doesn't seem too abnormal. They're a wear item.

I'm sorry about the issues you're having, but the 04-08s are not pos trucks when taken care of. My 2008 has 93k and drives just like new. It's been meticulously maintained though.

Sounds like you just had some bad luck. The list of problems you have aren't even common problems on any F-150, much less that model year.

Paint peeling on the roof? Was it ever waxed/kept out of the sun? If this was a 90's Dodge I'd have no question about paint problems.

Fried turn signal and broken interior pieces? I'm calling BS on that simply because there isn't anything to "fry" on the turn signal unless there was a major short or you tried some mods. The interior pieces don't really have any way to break unless you were jacking with them.

Warped rotors can happen on just about any vehicle, have them turned or replace them. It's not a real expensive item.

I'm calling troll on this thread.
