These bumpers on the base model xl's will chip pretty easily which leads to rust. I've seen many up north that are completely brown. I've repainted mine a few times to keep it rust free. This SEM rattle can matches the color of the 06-08 perfectly. The 2005 bumpers are slightly lighter and that color is also available. I did completely scuff the entire bumper and tried to level out any rock chips, and then wiped it all down with 91% isopropyl alcohol. Other than that, just mask it as I did. I applied 4-5 light coats letting them dry for 5 minutes between. The last pic has a filter on it, giving it a slight purple tint.

 

I need to do that. Have some stone chips that are rusting from highway driving.
