2005 f150 4.6litre engine (windser)
2005 f150 4.6litre engine (windser)
my engine wouldn't turn over after parking it for 3 hrs , come to find #1 cylinder has antifreeze on top of piston. thought it was in the timing chain because of 189000 miles on it, found tensioner broke on right head. chain was super loose , looks like it might have jumped time , the cam sprockets don't appear to be lining up properly , can someone help with how to check timimg and wondering if maybe a bent rod ??
bigmoe,
-I don't think your 4.6 is a windsor.
-antifreeze in your combustion chamber is not something to guess at. Unless you remove your lower intake manafold and find the cause there you've likely got either a) blown head gasket b)cracked head or c) cracked block
If you had enough antifreeze to stop it from turning over and you hit the starter, I'd guess bent a rod when you did it, it's called hydrolock.
Sorry I can't be more help, my knowledge level of these 4.6/5.4 modular motors is very limited.
