Need your help PLEASE!!!!!

Two months ago I had my 2006 f-150 v8 5.4Triton flash engine light go on and truck started to buck. Took into dealer and was told the PCM was bad, needed it replaced and a tune up to the sum of $2011.16. Two weeks age truck shuts right down at 55mph. took it straight back to the dealer and was told bad PCM. still under warranty they replaced with new PCM. Was then told that no compression on right side of the motor. they took off right side valve cover and discovered that #2 cylinder intake rocker arm broken and laying on head. Roller portion of rocker arm is in two pieces.one keeper and all of the bearings missing. valve spring was off but not broken. valve is stuck in the up position without spring attached. can i be so lucky that the new PCM went bad and engine blew at the same time? Service manager got involved from the beginning and said nothing they did would cause the motor to blow. I am now being told that they can put a re-manufactured engine in for $6000.00. So lost as to what to do. any and all info would be appreciated.

I had a similar issue with a previous truck (not a ford). Basically, it blew up 3 miles down the road after leaving the shop. I had it hauled to another shop and asked them to diagnose what they thought had happened. The way it sounds, they'll tell you anything to cover themselves and make more money off you.

If you like the truck and it is paid for, $6000 is a fair price for a reman. Try replacing the whole truck at that price ... yeah, probably not gonna happen.
