My 5.4L spark change
My 5.4L spark change
I purchased this 2006 F150 5.4L, in February and the owner was the second owner. By the title he put 10,000 miles on truck before he sold to me. So when the truck got 100,000 miles on it I decided to do a spark plug change, since he said he did not do one. Truck was running fine, so I tried and get prepared for the change, two can of 44K, soak the plugs, warm the motor and all. I went to crack one plug so the Kroil would get down around the plug, and no Noise from loosing the plug up. I thought I broke the first one
but it came out in one peace, so I tried the second one and it came out like changing plugs in my 351w in my car. All 8 came out with no effort, then I noticed the boots had dielectric grease on them, so I guess someone was proactive and changed the plugs early. So I cleaned the plugs up, anti seize and put back in, the little bit of carbon on them wiped right off with choke and carb cleaner.
I know some will say I should have changed while had them out, but I had purchased the Champion plugs and was not totally sure about them. So I have decided to put back in and wait until I have an issue with them. I am thinking if they came out good this time, they should again.
