How do I say...FUSTRATED!

Because of a shudder at 45 MPH, a few weeks ago, I changed all 8 spark plugs and COPs with genuine Ford Motorcraft parts. My truck had been driving well up until today. Under load, meaning when I really hit the gas (from 0), I heard a pop. I backed off the gas and hit it again and heard another pop. In a matter of 5.2 miles, I heard 3 pops. I assume those pops were misfires. The misfires seem to occur only when I really step onto the gas.

I give and up and will be taking her to the dealer tomorrow. I am so frustrated that I don’t know what to do!

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks,
Donald

What year is the truck? Did you just hear the "pops", or could you feel the vibration of them also?

Sometimes our vehicles have performance issues that go beyond our mechanical abilities to fix them! Trust me, there is nothing wrong with conceding defeat and taking it to a dealer who works on these trucks day-in-and-day-out and has the tools and experience to fix them when we can't! I promise we won't ask you to turn in your "Man Card".......

I only heard the pops. I did not feel any vibration from them.
Thanks,

Yeah....My truck is at the dealership now. I am hoping that it's a quick and cheap fix Hopefully, I will hear some good news from my Service Advisor very soon!

Problem Solved!

The dealership found that the #8 ignition coil was bad and that the gap for the #1 spark plug was incorrect. They replaced the ignition coil and corrected the spark plug gap. Now, she runs great! I was able to see a 16 plus average MPG...WOW!

Happy Memorial Day!

I'm confused how the gap could be incorrect if you're using OEM spark plugs? They have that proprietary design right?

Me too, but I guess it could be dropped and land on the strap. Otherwise, it would be defective from the factory.
