Odometer Light Works, but no readout

As the title states, my odometer backlight works just fine, but nothing displays on it. No mileage reading, no nothing. Anybody know how to fix it? Found plenty about fixing the backlight, but can't find anything similar to this issue.

isn't this the issue with the loose pins in the display?

That's perfect! I just went through the process listed there and it seems like the previous owner disconnected it at some point.

Follow up question: the dealer we got it from bought it "Odometer exempt" and that's how I got it too. Is there any way to get the mileage verified? Last time it was titled (2008) the mileage was 80,000. Everything I've seen with others having these issues, the mileage was still calculated correctly even though the display wasn't working.

The mileage display is just that, a display. The computer has the actual mileage stored. It can be retrieved with a scan tool, the dealer could have done that in their service department.

As soon as you get the display working it should show the mileage according to what the computer has stored in it.
