Replaced battery and it will not start but does crank

I have 06 f150 5.4 4x4. Replace original battery just because its time. Installed new one. It started then died put old one back in and started. I went to two diff places and 3 different batteries. It has power and cranks great will not start with new battery as soon as my old one is in rock n roll. Easy job turned out to be 2 days of hell

????? This is ......???? OK start with some specifics. Are you replacing the original battery? What new battery are you installing? Can you test voltage read across the battery when you do get it to start with the new battery? Something else is not right.

I had that with the brothers truck. His ended up being the fuel pump driver module. It is located on a cross member above the spare tire. Not saying that's your issue, but it's worth a look. They have an issue with corrosion. Worth a look.

Try just disconnecting the new battery, wait a few minutes then try starting it. Also, you could try charging the new battery to make sure it is fully charged. These engines take a lot of juice. Just a very weird problem.

Id check the battery connections, make sure they are good and tight. Just can't imagine why 3 new batteries would not have at least one work. Something else is up. Using the same CCA or higher?

What about the physical size of the battery? Are the new ones you tried bigger/smaller?

Just for the heck of it, can you try to get someone to jump it with the new battery? Sounds odd, but I'm just curious.
