About a month ago my turn signal broke and became dislodged from the socket. After examining it I noticed the housing that where the switch pivots has worn out and will no longer keep the switch itself inside the socket. I have to manually put it back in the socket and play with it it to turn the bright lights off. I'm not sure if this common for this type of truck (2006 Ford f-150) but I need to know what I should do.

 

sounds like you need to replace the multi-function switch (turn signal switch)
