I just ordered some towing mirrors for my 05. the mirrors come with the heaters in them, my truck currently does not have the heated mirror option but it is my understanding that its wired for it anyway, is that true? if so, all i need to do is get a switch and the heated mirrors should work?

 

The tow mirrors only came stock on the 2008 trucks so I don't know if the wiring is the same. It should be. What trim level do you have? Do you have a recirculate button? You might have to change out that whole cluster where the heated mirror button should go if you want it to look OEM.

 

to make the heated mirrors work you have to replace your fuse panel as the circuits inside it does not have the terminal for the heated mirror portion. i did this to my 04 and got the fuse panel on ebay, just made sure it had the fuses for heated mirrors. then had to replace the heater control panel with one that had one the heated mirror button. be careful on this, i ordered one on ebay but was from the wrong year and ended up having to get one new from ford to make everything work
