Truck in shop
Well, after pulling of the highway i hear a lot of valve clatter and no feel a loss of power and as i pull up to the stop sign it almost dies, later in the driveway it did die, it starts up but will not idle. Later in the evening when truck is cold it starts up and idles but dies after you give it throttle meaning give it gas and it revs fine but take your foot of the pedal it dies.
Took it to the shop and after a little poking around they say.
2 issues
1, excessive valve clatter ( this i pointed out to them he he )
2, 2 cylinders with a little less compression 4% loss in one and 10% in another one in each bank.
And the torque converter is locked up
They will today reflash the EMC (computer) to see if that will help (I have a Gryphon and set it to stock before going to the shop)
They will pull the valve cover and a valve cap to see if there has been a lack of oil today.
I will update as I know

Update
Well as it turned out there are 3 bad cylinders 2-4-5 with 2% -5% -15% loss of compression
Camshafts in both banks are damaged, bearings scorched Hydraulic tensioners dont work ? and will not keep oil pressure after 5 mins of running and will not idle either,
some how the Torque converter is now ok perhaps from the reflash.
No alternative but to trade it in ..so I did
I'm now an owner of a 2013 XLT with Ecoboost Crewcab with a 6'5" bed
Backup Camera, spray in bed, towing package and gear ratio 1:3.73 and more
Pictures to follow.

Not enough Jay, there was 78801
I'm a somewhat dissapointed the engine had good oil samples never had any funny ticks or sounds or anything, just ran like a champ.
I changed the oil religiously except once where i went 7500 miles using amsoil and i only did that because the oil was so clean and the oil lab said i was not using the oil to its potential and that was last year, and only once before I thought to myself naah shes my baby and the savings are not enough to justify. Anyway I think or hope it was a catastrophic failure not a long term thing because of neglect
But i had 8.5 good years with her.
I now have a Gryphon programmer for sale and a few other things i will be posting in the classifieds

That's a shame. I had 135,000 on my 2005 when I sold her. I loved that truck. Just don't have the same feelings for my 2011 although she has been trouble free for 70,000 miles.
