Edge stage 3?

Hi, I have just bought an edge evolution for my 06 f150 5.4. I have heard there maybe an issue with spark knock when using stage 3 without intake and exhaust mods. Is this true or can I just use 93 octane fuel and let er buck?

Not true. The canned Edge tune was written for 91 octane. Normally, you can bump the timing up 1.0 and still not have pre detonation. I ran that tune for about 30,000 miles on my 2005, then got custom tunes.

I had the Edge on my 2004... the biggest problem with Stage 3 is the MPGs
... once you are on Stage 3 you can't avoid burying the throttle

Hi.

Even after adjusting the timing advance setting to accommodate the specific octane you wish to run, you still cannot use an aftermarket CAI safely with Edge canned tuning.

Exhaust mods typically require no correction ( e.g muffler swap, catback, straight pipes, stacks, lol ).

good luck
