Tire & wheel help.

So I'm lifting my truck 6 inches with the Rough Country lift for 04-08 f150's, & I'm wondering what tires to get. I was thinking 35" nitto mud graps; but I'm not sure.
I was also wondering if I could keep my stock rims/wheels? They're chrome & I don't want to change them If I don't have too..
What all do I need to do for my tires? What is backspacing? I do like when lifted trucks have the tires stick out a couple inches? Agh I need help I don't know what to do lol

I would not do mud grapplers... they look cool but are very loud and I haven't seem them hold up to many miles... the trail grapplers I think are a better choice I have had a few different customers get around 50k out of them... I am not sure what the backspacing is on your stock wheels.. but check rough countrys website it will list what the wheel specs need to be... I know on some of the lifts it wont allow you to run stock wheels because of the new knuckles.. hope this helps ...

Stock wheels won't work on that lift. The backspacing is too high on them. Iirc you'll need to find a wheel with around 4.5" of backspacing.

Because of the backspacing on stock wheels, you also wouldn't get that sticking out look you'd get with a wheel with less backspacing.

As for mud grapplers, I have them and love them. But like he said^, they are very loud and only get louder. And if your looking for a tire that last, these aren't it. I'm looking to get around 30-35k outta mine at the most. However if you want an extremely aggressive tire and one that's very loud, these might be the tires for you.

Adding 2" spacers is the only way to make stock wheels compatible with a lift, and that is not advised . . .

You can pick up a decent set of motometal, TIS, Ballistic, etc wheels for around $800 if you wanna do it a little more budget friendly. Mud grapps look cooler than hell, but don't last 50k miles like Toyo MTs or Trail Grapps. And when dropping close to 2G's on tires, I want them last.
