'04 F150 key wont work

One of my keys won't start my truck, the other works fine. If I use my remote starter, everything is good? I called the dealership and they want $60 to reset the chip in the key? Is there a way I can get the key working without going to the dealer? Any help will be appreciated. -30C with a wind chill of -41C, just saying...

The only other option might be a locksmith.

is it a factory remote start or aftermarket? it its aftermarket their might be a box under the dash that contains a working key to make the system work. you can reprogram a blank key yourself but you have to have 2 working keys to do it.

2 original working keys, not 1 original and 1 clone.

Hey, thanks for the info, it is an aftermarket that was installed by the dealer. I still have one key that works. Is there a "usual" place for the extra key and how do I reset the bad one? And thanks again...

You can't "reset" a bad key yourself - again, dealer or locksmith. The only thing you can do yourself is program a new key if you have both originals and both WORK.
