High quality replacement headlight housings.
Okay I got to looking at the truck today and noticed that the last 10 years have been rough on the old headlight housings... I have polished them out once, and now it appears that they have started leaking. Now I have a couple of options I am guessing here, but I don't know...
Option #1. Separate the headlight lens from the body clean it up, polish up the clear plastic again so that it is crystal clear, paint / tint the reflectors as I really like the darkened headlight look... and then re-seal the lights with RTV adhesive sealant. The question is, would the RTV be visible from outside of the truck, and would the tinting impact the actual light cast on the road. I suspect so which is why I haven't done it.
Option #2. Replace the assembly with an aftermarket, or OEM Harley style headlight assembly.
If option 2 is picked, should I go back with stock type halogen bulbs (Silverstars), or upgrade to LED / HID lighting, and if the latter, why? What advantages are there? Yes I know LED / HID is the new tech, but tech just for tech sake doesn't cut it if it is less reliable, or does not peform as well... So what is the consensus out there?
I am hard pressed to like HIDs due to the blue hue to the light. Are there white HIDs out there? And LEDs have not impressed me yet. My Pro Comp 130 watt off road halogen lights throw WAY more light down the beach than my friend's 20" LED light bar. However I figure I am not comparing apples to apples here...

Now this setup will cost you any where from $200 -$800 depending on projector, lights,OEM or aftermarket ballasts, and if you do it yourself.
If you are a little worried about cutting it up yourself there are a few good fellows here willing to do the work for you, but at a cost of course.
Look up Saleen's retrofits to get an idea of how they turn out and pricing..
Okay, now for a new question... It appears that HID conversions might not be street legal. At least not in all 50 states.. And from the look of it, they are illegal in Texas. I personally am not trying to get an equipment ticket over something like headlights...
Technically any modification to OEM housing/specs are illegal. You can either keep it as close to OEM looking as possible, or stray from colors like blue.
Most cops won't ticket you if its not horribly blinding and white or soft white color..
In Michigan I have yet to have trouble with the cops over my retro.

As a matter of fact I live in League City same as you DBHOST. I have the lifted '07 White over dark grey F150 with the light bars, brush guard and bushwackers on 37's.
