Question Led conversion to blue interior need help?

Hi, New here to the forum and I was interested in converting all my switches over to blue LEDs. I have an 05' 5.4L FX4 and have done a lot of research on this (there are a lot of threads) but unfortunately my soldering skills are very very bad. I think I can handle the dash cluster swap. But the other Swicthes and lights are beyond my ability and was wondering if anyone on here had experience doing this kind of job and would be willing to do it for me. (Sorry hate to ask but just coming off shoulder surgery as well). Ofcoarse I would supply all the LEDS required and whatever $$$ wise would be fair for their time and trouble!

And send these
For the center stack steering wheel controls, window swicthes and a few other dash lights (I.e headlight and 4WD.)
It would be much appreciated
Thanks please PM if interested

Hey Flyboy, leave the ricer blue for the Hondas, lol. Seriously, I'm all for customization but this sounds like an awful idea and is terrible for your night vision using blue hues. If you want to put led's in the map/dome lights to make it brighter, that's fine, but going to deep colors like red/blue/purple/etc is just going to make people laugh at you every time you hit the key FOB.

Just ignore ol' Sooner. He's a very nice fella, but a practical joker (umm, not like me at all, ).

Factory went blue - can't be that bad. Heck - Stangs have variable colour lightin' - how ricey is that?

Anyway - I offered some idears 'you-know-where'.... lol

Good luck! C'mon, yall local members- step up and hep a feller out!!!

My point is bright blue leds ruin your night vision . . . you know, your ability to see things at night, especially people/animals in front of the cars. Red and soft green (which is factory in our trucks) are the best colors to avoid night-blindness. If he wants bright blue lights, power to him, but it will likely have unfavorable effects on his ability to spot hazards compared to leaving it alone.

The point about guys laughing was more a warning that he will catch a lot of crap from people for doing it. Obviously he can do what he wants, it's a free country, but that doesn't mean other people have to respect his decision. I laugh every time I see a lowered Civic with a fart-can exhaust, giant spoiler, and neon lights strapped to it.

That’s a good point, but I didn’t see where anyone mentioned “bright blue” though.
Flyboy, maybe putting your location will help.

Can't help you with the work OP, but just thought I would say the 2013's all have blue lights for the gauges and I have yet to be "blinded" by them and run off the road. Just sayin'.

The only one I've been in had mostly white back-lighting with soft blue needles. I will say that they back-lighting from the factory NAV screen, even when radio is off affects my vision. I turn the screen completely off at night because it causes such an issue. LED's are a very focused/intense light source.

My two cents. I have a Sirius radio with bright blue screen and with it down as low as it will go i still have to turn it away at night.. Also i have a double din radio that has multiple colors. I keep it white for the most part, but at night I have to turn it red or it affects my vision. Especially my distance vision.

Which is why you use the lower MCD rated units. And why you diffuse them if necessary. And why use use the wide-angle versions. And what the dimmer is for.

That said, I can fully concur that some folks have specific visual acuity or sensitivity issues with certain wavelengths. But it is NOT a universal affliction.

Good news is - if the OP tries this and finds it is not his cup of tea, or it induces some form of antisocial behaviour, the procedure is fully reversible ( another reason for spares).

For myself, Coors light makes me violently ill, so I can feel yer pain.

Didn't want to get this thread off topic but just clearing that up

I don't think doing this is "ricey" at all, and I'm quite acute to such things. I do think it's a ton of work for what ya get, but others have done it.

To help you out, there was a member on here that did his dash and maybe some other things. Can't remember his name, but he did those lights and painted white onto some factory wheels in a thread he started if you'd like to attempt to use the search function with those keywords.
