Check Fuel Cap Warning Help

Yesterday I got a message on my dash saying check fuel cap. I had driven on the highway for 100 miles before it said it and I checked it and it was loose so I fully closed it but the warning was still on. I used the reset button to clear the message but every time I crank the truck the message pops up and I've taken the cap off and put it back on a few times and it still says to check it. I dont want to have to hit the reset button every time I crank the truck, any advice?

it will probably take several drive cycles for the fault in the pcm to go inactive, which means starting the truck, driving and shutting the truck off is a drive cycle. or go to autozone or somewhere like that and have them clear your codes in the pcm.

It actually went off this morning after a few drives like you said but thank you!
