P1000 and P0171 codes

A little background here. My truck is a 2004 with about 215k miles, which I have owned and maintained since 06 and 10k miles. It began to periodically shudder and hesitate at certain throttle positions and has progressively gotten worse. The codes I'm getting cover a broad range of potential problems and I have yet to pin point the issue. The truck has recent upstream 02 sensors, fuel injector cleaner, maf cleaned. I also measured resistance in the coil packs on bank1 all of which were nearly identical, but I put a new one in the mix and have moved them around to see if a cylinder miss fire would occur, but it did not. Any suggestions are welcomed at this point. I have wondered about a possible weak fuel pump? The ongoing P1000 has me confused.

The p1000 is just a notice that the PCM has been cleared either by s reflash or just disconnecting the battery. It will reset when you have sufficient drive cycles. You need to figure out what is causing the p171. Also, how many miles on the plugs and what brand are they? Has the throttle body been cleaned?

The plugs have about 85k on them, I dont recall what brand I went with. I do know what ever I purchased was redesigned not to break upon removal. I had cleaned the TB quite a while ago so that wont hurt to do again. In my opinion the P1000 should be gone as it has lingered for at least 1000miles.

Time for new plugs again. That's the reason for the lousy running.

If you want to figure out why the P1000 won't clear, you need a higher end scanner that can report which sensors aren't ready.

Remove and inspect the FPDM, they are subject to corrosion. Replace if needed.

Fuel Pump Driver Module. It's bolted to the rear axle.

Well the p1000 finally went away but not got a p0174. I noticed corrosion on the FPDM. I replaced it but it did not resolve the problem. This really seems like a fuel problem. Since im not getting a specific cylinder miss fire Im reluctant to suspect a injector or plug. I suppose measuring the fuel pressure is my next step.

The only way to measure the fuel pressure is with a scan tool, there's no test port for a gauge.

Again - change your plugs, and look for vacuum leaks.
