Have a 2006 SCAB. Realized yesterday that I have standing water in both wire tracks under the sill plates on both sides of the vehicle. Confirmed that water draining through the window cowl is working it's way inside the vehicle....I can see a drip coming down in far front right corner of the passenger side floorboard but can't figure out where the source is.

Anybody had this problem???? Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

try searching on here. when my third brake light was leaking i came across a few threads similar to yours where the leak was coming from the grab handle area i believe

 

Thanks bud. I'll read up.....my dumb butt didn't think to do a search. Just did one and a ton of threads came up. I'll see what I can find. I've been reading some threads on another forum and it doesn't look good. Looks like it is a fairly common problem that can result from a handful of different issues.....windshield, a/c drains, welds, harness penetrations through the firewall, etc. This is NOT gonna be fun.

 

No worries, I remember seeing quite a few of them when I was searching. If you struggle narrowing it down, dry everything, sit inside, and have someone spray it down with a hose. Diagnosed a leak in a few other vehicles that way. Good luck!

 

When I was trying to find the source of water in the sills like you have, I stuffed crumpled paper towels everywhere I suspected the leak could be. I ran it through a touchless carwash and found my 3rd brake light was the culprit. Only the towels at the back of the trough were wet.
